Loui Burke is an Australian creative director, design educator, full-time content creator and host of the podcast Home & Hosting with Loui Burke.
Known as the internet’s occasionally fed-up, but always helpful, friend in home and hosting, Loui brings practical design knowledge, strong opinions and a discerning eye to the way we live.
His understanding of home began long before social media. Growing up around his family’s restaurants, accommodation, store and vineyard in the Hunter Valley meant setting tables, making beds, arranging furniture and flowers, and learning how food, wine and atmosphere come together to make people feel welcome.
Loui went on to study design, styling and art direction before working across home, fashion and lifestyle for more than a decade. His career has spanned creative direction, photographic styling, marketing and design education, including teaching design at university.
For the past five years, he has worked as a full-time creator, building an audience of more than 1.5 million across Instagram and TikTok. His advice ranges from bed-making and table-setting to interiors, entertaining, routines, shopping and the everyday details that make life feel more put together.
Across his social platforms, podcast and editorial work, Loui’s approach is grounded in a simple philosophy: clean gives calm, style gives warmth, restraint gives taste and function gives meaning. A considered home is not about chasing every trend, constantly buying more or having an enormous budget. It is about understanding what works, what matters and what can safely be removed.
